Get Out The Vote – ‘We The People’ Event

All candidates for local office are invited to ‘collaboratively’ urge residents of Wallingford to vote in the November Elections.

What can nonprofits do at election time?  Advocacy & Education that refrains from endorsing specific candidates or parties.

We can inform voters about the election process, ballot design, and encourage voters to participate in democracy by voting.

Organization may educate voters on the process of voting, include information about ballot design and explain the role and impact of elected positions on our communities. This is advocacy education not politics.

Did you know you can under or over vote?

Undervoting is a phenomenon that occurs when a voter does not record a vote in every office or question on a ballot. Experts believe that this can happen due to ballot fatigue, apathy, or even the ballot’s design.

Can someone overvote? Yes. If their voting to support a platform it is possible to overvote in select types of elections.
