Lately, there are many circumstances for which people are compelled to speak. Some remain silent in fear. Community Media exists to provide a safe, inclusive space to give a voice to things you are passionate about. We designed a way to support Good Trouble Messages on many topics creatively & safely in these times of anxiety & fear. Story and conversation are the cornerstones of our nonprofit business. Story crafting, people gathering, and uplifting voices is the practice.
Free Speech is no longer safe because it is a reason you could be made to disappear from your home, neighborhood, or campus.
Come with like-minded people and find joy in the creative practice of gathering to restore democracy in America. Let’s create compelling messages of advocacy & resistance.
WHEN: During school vacation week in April, we invite people ages 16 and up to come together to be creative about Good Trouble. We will have talented video and audio folks at the studio to support you technically. A template is shown here that enables expressive anonymity. Come when you can, and come often, during Mon-Tues-Wed starting April 14.
WHAT YOU NEED: A desire to express yourself
You can bring a digital file headline, find something that represents your concern while you’re here, or create your own poster or bring the one you held high during the #HandsOff Rally. We will provide the tools. Imagine your message expressed within the template video shown here.
The event is free however, our Democracy Ts will be available for a gift of $10 during these workshop days. The workshop is underwritten by a small grant from the Ulbrich Foundation.
