Help us build this multi-voice performance piece. Lend your words, your voice. (inspired by @Defiance13 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJEPeUDOMii/ ) Daffodils in Ashes The First 100 Days

Drafting has begun. (add your words, your voices, a counterpoint piece). Inspiration First Hundred Days Daffodils can transcribed here.

REFRAIN: We dare to bloom like daffodils pushing through concrete. (maybe dandelions?)

Voice 1: “As the noose tightens around our freedoms.”
Voices WE march,
WE speak
WE cry,
WE laugh,
WE —
WE —
WE —
Voice 2: In a world scorched by tyranny,
Voice 3: —resistance is our anthem! because hope whispers louder than fear.”
Voice 4: Let the first hundred days be a testament, not just to shame, but to the stubborn hope that refuses to die!

Refrain:
We dare to bloom like daffodils pushing through concrete.

Voices: They try to silence us,
To silence the press
To silence the educators
To —
To —

Voice 5: we turned our voices into a symphony of defiance.
Voice 6: Remember the child with the sign? ‘Be kind or be quiet’—that’s our revolution.
Voice 7: They can build walls, but they can’t cage our spirit.
Voice 8: From church basements to punk shows, we rise—united in resistance.
Voice 9: And as long as we breathe, our reasons will multiply like wildflowers in the cracks of their pavement.
Voice 10: Let them write about the daffodils, for that’s where the heart of America still beats.

Refrain:
We dare to bloom like daffodils pushing through concrete.

  1. Is this about the American spirit? Or is this about the defiance and disorder that arises when people don’t get to have their own way in public squares, government , our President etc, what is the premise of this poem ? It’s not really about unity but conformity is what it sounds like 😊 not hating just saying

    1. The poem by defiance is observation. We offered the opportunity for people of all view point to come together as we always do to find common ground or express what they believe. The metaphor Daffodils through concrete is not about hate it is about resilience. What is heard is always rooted in bias which is why engagement it critical to understanding.
